I know a man who can take you to Narnia.
Well, not really Narnia, but at the same spot in England where Narnia is born in the spirit of CS Lewis, author of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," which was recently released as a major motion picture picture by Disney, and all of the Chronicles of Narnia series.
His name is Ron Brind, who was a childhood friend of father-son Douglas Gresham Lewis and a frequent visitor to the former home of Lewis Oxfordshire in the 1950s.
This wonderful tour takes place in Oxfordshire, England and visits to places of interest, including the former home of Lewis "furnaces and the beautiful Holy Trinity Church, Oxford, who was the last Lewis remains.
The duration of the visit, which is approximately 3 hours and starts outside the Randolph Hotel in Beaumont Street, Oxford, who is known for its connections with Colin Dexter, who wrote the famous Inspector Morse novels, and frequents Randolph. En route, you'll see the remains the former "City Wall", Magdalen College, Longwall Street where Lewis was elected Fellow in 1925, Magdalen Bridge, where the famous Oxford May Day celebrations held at Magdalen College School, which was followed by Doug.
You'll be guided through Headington to see one the former home of JRR Tolkien and furnaces, the former home of Lewis which was purchased jointly in October 1930 by Ms. Moore, Jack and Lewis Major. Just steps away is the lake which resulted in La Punt, bottom disturbance, owned by Lewis. Punt How to get there? Find it hard on the tour!
On leaving the furnace, the Tour goes through a water hole used by local Jack and Warnie and went to Holy Trinity Church in Headington Quarry, where the vicar Tom honey will, subject to commitments, you can see inside this beautiful building. Outside in the churchyard you will see the Tomb of CS Lewis and Mrs. Janie King Moore, mother of the writer, close friend Paddy Moore.
You'll also see the entrance to the Mayfair Suite Wingfield former hospital, today the Nuffield Orthopedic Center, where Jack and Joy's marriage was blessed at a ceremony bedside in December 1956 because his death was considered imminent. The last stop will be Oxford Crematorium to see the plaque to Joy Davidman in the cloister 2 and if you want to know exactly where the ashes of Joy dispersed.
The tour finishes at the Eagle and Child pub being beautiful Oxford St Giles. This famous watering hole has been regularly used by Lewis and his circle of intellectual friends Literary and known as "The Inklings". Here you will be presented with a certificate of registration of your personalized visit to 'The ovens' - a souvenir of your tour and a reminder that the legacy lives on Lewis.
Thus, even if he can take you as far as Narnia, it can take you on the spot where Narnia has been conceived and born. And if you saw the Disney movie entitled "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe magic ", it is likely that you would like to see where and how Narnia was born.
