What Surah's are best to overcome depression/anxiety?
I am a bit confused at times, on what surah's should I read on a daily basis for peace to the mind, and prosperity. I have suffered alot through the past on an emotional level, and experience anxiety and depression alot. Which surah's are best when one is wanting peace and patience(sabr) through obstacles of life. Surah Yaseen? Surah Waqiah? Surah Rahman? etc etc??
Surat Al-Baqarah.
Read it once everyday and you will feel the difference. It is known for its great effect to overcome depression.
قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم: "اقرءوا سورة البقرة فإن أخذها بركة..و تركها حسرة و لا تستطيعها البطلة." رواه مسلم
Translation:
Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) said: Read Surat Al-Baqarah, because in reading it there is blessing, in ignoring it there is sorrow, and the sorceresses cannot memorize it.
