Abraham Stoker (his family called Bram) is an Irish writer. Bram was born November 8, 1847. Bram died April 20, 1912. Bram Stoker came a large Protestant family. It was the third born in a family of seven children.

Bram was born with a disability. It was bedridden due to mysterious causes, until the age of seven. He then made a full recovery. He grew strong and was an athlete at Trinity College Dublin. He graduated with honors in 1870 and Bram graduated in mathematics.

Despite the Bram science based studies, he enjoyed the fiction. Bram early years of the disease has led to many hours fantasizing and thinking. As a young Bram man is interested in the theater. After her marriage Florence Balcombe, Bram and his new wife moved to London. Bram then became the Acting and business manager of the Lyceum Theater.

Bram and Florence had only one child, Noel Thornley Stoker. Bram worked Theater Lyceum for over 27 years. Bram salary was not enough to support himself and his family. Accordingly, he began writing to supplement his salary. Bram spent a lot of years researching the vampire folklore throughout Europe. He was fascinated by stories of vampires. He visited sites Gothic as Slains Castle in Aberdeenshire and the crypt of St Michan's Church in Dublin. Those trips and others attracted only Stoker's curiosity with all things morbid.

Bram would the author numerous fantasy, horror, and gothic novels The Jewel of Seven Stars (1903), The Lady of the Shroud (1909) and The Lair of the White Worm (1911). But none would become as popular in 1897 the work of Bram Dracula. But Bram has made a big mistake after the publication of Dracula. He did not follow copyright and, therefore, Dracula has been in the public domain in America since its initial publication.

Dracula was largely ignored during it's time. The novel would not see mainstream success for several decades. In 1922, Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau filmed an unauthorized adaptation of Dracula called Nosferatu. After the release of Nosferatu, the popularity of the book by Bram's Dracula has risen slightly. The widow of Bram's tried to have the film banned, but because Dracula has been in the challenges the public domain in the movie has failed.

Stoker died April 20, 1912 at his home. Historians believe that the reason the death of Bram is due to tertiary syphilis. He has suffered many blows before dying. Bram was cremated and his ashes placed in an urn now on display at Golders Green Crematorium. Visitors wishing to visit the ballot box must be escorted to the room the box is mainly because of fears of vandalism.

In 1914, two years after the death of Bram and his wife published the new user's Dracula. It is generally assumed that this work was the original first chapter of Dracula Stoker.
