Earth Eckhart Tolle
In January 2008, Oprah Winfrey chose my book The New Earth, for the Oprah Winfrey Book Club Selection. This, with its reference to my previous book, The Power of Now, completely changed the fate of these two works. Not only have I reach a much wider audience, but the enthusiasm of Oprah Winfrey for the New Earth has led to a webinar ten periods which allowed us to explain in depth the ideas and techniques of structure.
Before of Oprah Winfrey discovered me and my book chosen for Oprah Winfrey Book Club Selection, I led a very lonely, quite the life. I enjoyed that life, and I really never imagined that I would any other type of existence. The Power of Now was a moderate success, give me a little security after having lived many years as a wandering hermit.
Once it has chosen The New Earth as a club selection pounds, the amount of attention that has been created beyond what I could ever imagine. What I loved working with Oprah Winfrey webinars on was his enthusiasm. It is obviously very well read and very sophisticated, but that does not tarnish his innocent love of new ideas and concepts. Much of what I said in The New Earth is very basic and simple, and can actually be realized with a simple heart and mind. We very fortunate to have someone with such influence, which is really enlightened and wishes the best for us all.
I can only hope Good luck to all the writers nominated this year. I would like to make special mention of a novel I read recently, Cactus Earth, the author Robert Bonomo. I think this novel has a special meaning for our time, I hope many people read it, if selected for the Oprah Winfrey Book Club selection or not.
About the Author:
Eckhart Tolle is a Spiritual Teacher and author. He was born in Germany and educated at the Universities of London and Cambridge. At the age of twenty-nine a profound inner transformation radically changed the course of his life. The next few years were devoted to understanding, integrating and deepening that transformation, which marked the beginning of an intense inward journey. Later, he began to work in London with individuals and small groups as a counselor and spiritual teacher. Since 1995 he has lived in Vancouver, Canada.
