Ellery Queen Mysteries
With all the hundreds of channels of cable TV, why should we bother to listen to old time radio today? I would like to one. And believe it or not, there are thousands of people who listen to radio on the old days (OTR) shows every day.
We can not match large lines of history and land a good show OTR mystery. I'm talking about big shows, such as the inner sanctum, Ellery Queen, CBS Radio Mystery Theater, etc.. If you like mystery shows, you'd probably want to hear any of these series.
I started listen to old time radio when I was a kid. Immediately, I was hooked. It may seem strange to some that you can attend a spectacle that is the audio. But yes, it is possible. You see, when you listen to old time radio, your imagination gets to work. The actors in this day and age can come to a magical story alive. You can almost see in your mind what is in progress.
What a pleasure it is, for accompany Sam Spade on one of his cases exciting. Can you solve the mystery before he does? Maybe you can. Why not give it a try to see?
Over the years I have experienced many adventures with the "Space Patrol" and "Green Hornet" and much, much others. Old Time Radio is not just a group of people who speak into a microphone. It's so much more than that. Before television, radio was means of entertainment. Whole families sat around the radio, just as they do with television today.
These actors were serious in their day. They have given a great party experience for their audience. What is good about OTR is that there is something for everyone. Do you love a great comedy? Then try "Father Knows Best." And yes, Robert Young plays it the hand of the father. I sit and laugh out loud at these shows. They are really funny.
Maybe you love a good western. You may want to listen or Gunsmoke "The Diamond K". It are many high quality shows that the West was carried on radio in the 30's, 40's and 50's.
If you love a good detective story and did not, there are many shows to choose from. Just a few of them are "ABC Mystery Time" "Carter Brown", "Charlie Chan" and many more.
There are many good shows for you horror fans too. Such as: "The Door creaking, "" The Black Museum "," Creeps-By-Night "and" the creaking door. "Fans of adventure, you will not ignored either. You can sit and enjoy many hours of Superman and The Green Hornet and "Doc Savage", and many others.
There are so many thousands of radio old time we have shown that you can listen to for years and never short of great shows to listen. Why not just give it a try and see what you think. Listen to a good show and I bet you'll hear more. Time off the TV for a while, come online and download some shows OTR. Much can be obtained free on the Internet.
