What should I do about coworkers who lie to make more money, which then cheats me out of my money?
I work as a telesales rep for a phone company. I have been with the company for about one year, and I was just written up for low sales for the first time ever. I was told that if I do not bring my sales up, I will be fired from my position. I'm honest. I don't lie to people about myself or about the product I'm selling, I tell people the prices including tax, I tell them the truth. Problem is, there are a bunch of new people who have come in and are lying to customers. They say things are free that aren't, they give fake prices, they even lie about how long it will take to get service. They're making $300-$400 in commission alone every 2 weeks, whereas I am being denied my commission and written up because my amount of sales is below the room average. I have spoken to my supervisor about the issue, and she assures me she's going to start monitoring calls, but I don't have much time left before being fired. What should I do in this situation?
I would get a different job. If you have to lie to people just to make money, it isn't worth it. For someone who's honest and up front, having to lie just for business is unethical.
