What ingredient makes me sleep?
I took a weight loss product called Reduction made by controlled labs. The weight loss was little to none and I'm off it now, but the sleep that I had from the nighttime pill was wonderful. What ingredient had that effect on me?
Ingredients:
SLEEP n' SLIM Complex™...1300mg
Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid (GABA),
Taraxacum Officinale Extract (from Root),
Valeriana Officinalis Root Extract,
L-Theanine,
Griffonia Seed Extract
Other Ingredients: Maltodextrin, Magnesium Stearate and Artificial Colors
It is not a surprise this is a nighttime pill.
GABA and L-Theanine are both amino acids that can promote sleep. Valeriana Officinalis (valerian) is one of the most common herbs used for sleep. Griffonia extract is also known as 5-HTP. This is sold as a sleep aid and for the treatment of depression.
Taraxacum Officinale is the fancy scientific name for dandelion. I think the extract is usually used to improve digestion and stomach problems. As far as I know, it has no effect on sleep.
