Manager Ken Blanchard
Why does being late piss people off so much? if your not on the clock your not taking any money,?

employee retention is the highest cost for a business. according to gung ho, and the one minute manager writter Ken Blanchard, wouldnt it be smarter to have a good skilled employee show up late then a new employee that sucks show up on time. and i mean five minutes or less late.
i dont mind staying late, i work my ass off, its just people are literaly killing themselves in traffic trying to get to something thats not worth dying for, i was let go from a thriving business i ran for being a little late, but i made a superior product and was put in the paper three times and on the morning news for being so good, and every task i did was completed on time, now she went out of business without my help. im on time now cus i dont have to get up as early though.

So basically they can count on you to be late even though you are a good employee...why not be a GREAT employee and be on time

Here's another management parable that draws its lesson from an unlikely source--this time it's the fun-loving fishmongers at Seattle's Pike Place Market. In Fish! the heroine, Mary Jane Ramirez, recently widowed and mother of two, is asked to engineer a turnaround of her company's troubled operations department, a group that authors Stephen Lundin, Harry Paul, and John Christensen describe as a "toxic energy dump...
