Secret Supper Javier
It's not often that I am truly impressed by a book, but the Secret Supper is really the best I've read in a very long time. While you may not believe this book is far superior to The Da Vinci Code and, if made into a movie, I'll be first in line.
The writer Spanish Javier Sierra has developed a plot that is amazingly complex and remains true in the book, 329 pages. The Secret Supper focuses on Leonardo Da Vinci's famous painting The Last Supper. What secrets does it hold and who would kill to keep under wraps?
As you know, Da Vinci was much more than just an incredible artist. He was also skilled mathematician, inventor and musician. Did he leave a secret message encoded in his famous masterpiece and if so, what is that message?
Follow Father Agostino, who is the Master General of the Secretariat of keys to Bethany, where he exhibited at Milan to discover the mystery. The secretariat has been established to assist the Holy Father - Pope Alexander VI - teach the subject and to cancel all enemies the Catholic Church.
The story takes place in a time after most of the Cathars (the Christians) were eliminated by Italy. However pockets of still faithful to the great consternation of the Pope. Da Vinci was secretly Cathar and who were his allies in and around Milan?
Da Vinci was considered a thug, troublemaker and nuisance, for his new masterpiece could also be very dangerous. Javier Sierra has discovered a "code" in the Last Supper, which is slowly and methodically decode. Since the book's cover depicts the Last Supper, coverage, readers can follow easily by inspecting every aspect of painting.
The Da Vinci Code has been the first to broach the subject of Jesus and Mary Magdalene actually be the husband and wife. In The Secret Supper, Sierra picked up on this theory and it is further. Actually sitting to the left of Jesus? Da Vinci and even to dinner?
I read this book in three days. It is one that you can not save once you start reading and I look forward to reading many other books by this author.
